Astro’s Playroom News, Trailer, Guides, And More

The laser can also break windows on the floor or kill enemies, especially those that are better left untouched. The following page of the guide for Astro’s Playroom contains some tips for getting started, which are aimed primarily at novice players. Here we also describe a few elements that you might have overlooked. You’ll be greeted with a message that says a special bot is hidden somewhere in Deep Dataspace. On its own, Astro’s Playroom would be a fun platforming distraction fit for younger gamers or families.

You can also go through the levels from the start and collect the coins that are renewed there. This section of our Astro’s Playroom walkthrough details all of the Puzzle Pieces in the game, and will help guide you to them to so that you can find and collect them all! They can be found in every level in the game, except for the Network Speed Run levels. Some children might feel frustrated with different game levels or obstacles. Talk to them about recognising when it’s time to take a break and turn their attention somewhere else. Often, when they come back relaxed, they’re more likely to find success.

Celebrating 30 Years Of Playstation With A Nostalgic Look

There are not many games released in recent memory that have utilized the DualSense controller, like Japan Studio. G28 mixed with the nostalgia is a potent mix of a successful game. Some players would describe this project as a tech demo for the PlayStation 5, and while it won’t be false, Astro’s Playroom is more than that. The game is broken down into multiple levels, and each one stands out in its unique way.

At the very end of the level, turn around to find a Bot wearing a blue cap trying to crack a safe, who retreats when you get close. This is a reference the Sly Cooper franchise that first appeared in 2002 on PS2, developed by Sucker Punch. This scene refers to his safe cracking skills, and this setup in particular serves as the cover for the European version of the game, where it was known simply as Sly Raccoon. On the right-hand side of the pool at the very end of Bot Beach is a bloated Bot with a crown on its head and a cake on its belly. This is a reference to 2009’s Fat Princess for the PS3, developed by Titans Studios.

It seems the special bots are integrated into the guide as opposed to being tacked on as an addendum. Either way, most guides are from when it came out, and a lot more people have a PS5 now. Those that haven’t played it have been tempted to give it a go with a second installment being announced, so an updated guide will be helpful to quite a few I would imagine. Astro’s Playroom is the latest platformer starring Astro Bot that comes pre-loaded on the PlayStation 5.

Astro’s Playroom Sharp Sense Of Humour Is Just As Good As Its Dualsense Tricks

Before we get to that, we’ll first need to find the GT driver’s artifact. From here, jump over to the wooden platform up the tree, cross over the DualShock Cable to another platform, then defeat the Spiky on it. Check the tree trunk here to find the clock depicted on the tube’s screen earlier. Every single device, or UMD or game disc, is lovingly crafted right down to the movable thumbsticks of a controller, or the input and output ports on the back of a console.

This isn’t the first time the game has received surprise content years after its release. Astro’s Playroom threw an in-game Astro Bot party to celebrate the latter’s global launch. Astro’s Playroom first launched in 2020 as a pre-installed PS5 exclusive that highlighted the DualSense controller’s features. The platformer also paved the way for the successful Astro Bot, Team Asobi’s hit game from 2024 that earned numerous Game of The Year awards.

Another unlockable display for the Labo area are some canisters with white logos in them. These are the icons for the Xross Media Bar, which debuted on the 2003 PSX console in Japan, but is more known for its use on the PSP, PS3 and on Bravia TVs. The logos are still in use today, with the exception of the old PSN logo.

Astro’s Playroom launches November 12th, bundled with the PlayStation 5. Holding the square for a long while will charge a special rotating attack. Astro then for a few seconds begins to rotate and hit everything in reach.

As you can tell, there’s not much of a story with this game, but you don’t need a fully fleshed-out plot for this demo. Astro’s Playroom has you controlling one of the Astro Bots as you explore different areas to find artifacts. These aren’t just any items but other accessories and items from PlayStation’s history. Collecting all the items feels like you’re a curator at a PlayStation museum.

Puzzle Piece 4/4 – When you reach the room with the fans blowing downward toward electrical hazards on the floor, this puzzle piece is between an electrified mine and these hazards. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – In this same starting area, go around the back of the rock pillar in the middle of the purple plants to find this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – At the second hang glider section some rings will appear.

The HD Camera follows in the footsteps of the PlayStation Camera, PS Eye and EyeToy before it. The odd clam design is actually so that the lower “jaw” can be pulled down to help perch the camera on top of a television. It’s also the first PlayStation camera that, via the PS5’s software, can remove the background behind the player. The PlayStation 3 used Blu-Ray discs as its optical storage method, a format that would be used for the PlayStation 4 and 5 as well. Because every PS3 came with an internal hard drive, many games supported partially installing data onto the console in advance (which some PS2 games also did, especially in Japan).
